Painter Ridge Trail
The Painter Ridge trail is a cycling and hiking trail located in Echo Bluff State park. It can be accessed from Echo Bluff state park by at the trailhead near the visitor center. The trail has 2 loops, with some skill sections for cyclists to use. The trail is intended to be run in a clockwise direction for cyclists, with berms and wooden features to make a more enjoyable descent. Hikers and cyclists should be aware that this is a multi-use trail, with cyclists yielding to hikers. Painter Ridge is not an equestrian trail.


Preparing for the Trail
Hiking or Cycling can be a strenuous activity. Be sure to prepare before heading out!
- Always let someone know where you are going, and when you plan to return.
- Bring plenty of water and food, and don’t overdo it.
- Download/print a map of the trail section beforehand, as you will not have cell service on much of the trail.
