Mingo NWR Visitor Center
The Mingo Headquarters and Visitor Center serves as a place for visitors to learn about and enjoy Mingo National Wildlife Refuge. The building includes a multipurpose room, exhibits, bookstore, staff offices and storage. Surrounding the building are accessible trails and an observation area. The interactive exhibits interpret the history of the refuge and the plants, wildlife and habitats that make Mingo so unique to southeast Missouri.
The Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and Headquarters building hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The building is open Monday – Saturday from March through November and Monday – Friday from December through February. The visitor center is a great place to start your visit off at to the refuge.
Did You Know?
Amid the bald cypress, water tupelo, overcup oak and buttonbush you might catch a glimpse of prothonotary warblers or see a green treefrog.
